Feed me Seymour, feed me all night long

Would it be presumptuous of me to say that I’m really not in the mood to research the quote for the correct wording? Well if it is, then damn it all to hell I suppose. 😛 Anyway, onto the the post, while I’ve time.
Emotional vampires: Fact, fiction or metaphor? I asked this because a couple of weeks ago I happened upon a television program discussing said subject, well not just that subject in particular, but the presence of vampires (vampyres) in general. However, I was most enthused with the concept of the existence of creatures/beings who do feed on the emotions of others– literally and/or figuratively. Of course there’s no way of knowing that they (emo vamps) do exist, or just your average, lonely, disillusioned emo gamer who’s just looking to get there kicks by thinking of themselves as supernatural– beyond the status quo. But, then I started to really delve into the possibility of indeed there being individuals who do absorb, suck or drain the life-force out of you because they themselves are lacking some crucial nourishment in their lives.

Now you could be the vamp in question, or be dating, living and working with one and don’t even realize it. You know that guy that constantly prattles on about how he hates his life, and looks for the closest target to dump all this shit on; or your best friend that incessantly whines about her romantic life being equated to a midnight running at the local cineplex. They come in all shapes and sizes– the professional complainers. Mouths going a thousand times minute, talking about nothing. There are moments when the complainer does have a reasonable argument, and their tantrums are justified. However, they become emo vampires when they refuse to do anything about the situation except wallowing in self-pity.
I’m not ashamed to say that I’m an emotional life sucker (not sure if that’s the right context), with my neuroticism, and my needy behavior, but should I be damned for it? No. I’m getting away from the topic here; what I’m trying to understand is the various ways one can (does) define themselves as being one amongst said creatures of the night. And I’m jumping ahead of myself when I say night, because there really is no distinct time of day one can drain the shit out of you. lol
Anyway, pshycologist would diagnose those whom identify as vampires of this type as having personality disorders, and then there are those who actually see this as some form of mind control or obtaining power:
” PSI, Psychic and Emotional Vampires A psi-vampire is someone who requires others’ energy for whatever reason or purpose. They tend to go from surplus to deficit in terms of energy fairly quickly, become energized when surrounded by lots of people, and often find themselves more attached to energy than they are bodily sensation.

There are those who can’t perform nearly as well sexually–or at all, for that matter–without some energy stimulus, and often get greatly frustrated as a result.

Some people can live off of the energy that people “throw off,” so to speak, especially in large crowds and “emotional” ones at that. Crowds are usually the best choice as an energy source, but you do have the option of draining one person only.

It’s not recommended, as the strain on them will be much greater as opposed to taking a tiny bit from a lot of people. It also can be harmful to them, not to mention if you try to take from the wrong person–an aware psi or mage–they can sense your attempt, and may take it as an attack.

Psychic Vampirism, technically, can be termed the use of the psyche to draw energy, or it can also be considered as a drawing or focus upon the energy centers of the psyche, or mind by an energy vampire. The two are quite different.

. In the first example, it is expressed as the use of the mind to draw energies into oneself, which is actually involved in most of the conscious feeding practices of the energy-inclined vampires.

However, with the understanding that there is a large amount of unconscious energy drawing that occurs in most energy vampires, it can also be accepted that not all energy is obtained directly through the faculties of the mind, or psyche, and therefore, not all energy vampirism is, innately, psychic in nature.

To continue, the second way in which the term Psychic Vampirism can be viewed is in the case that the Energy vampire focuses upon the energy centers of the mind, or psyche, of their host, and draws the energy from there.

During any conscious act of energy drawing, the person who is feeding may or may not have control of the specific energies that they are taking in. The possibilities of varying types of energy that can be targeted by the focused energy vampire are endless, and when discussing the acts of feeding from human sources, there are several main energy centers that are most likely to be targeted, if, in some manner, the defenses of the source can be compromised or penetrated.

Some schools of thought label these energy centers as Chakras. The upper centers, such as the third eye chakra, crown chakrae quite easy energy centers to link to in matters of feeding practice, when the defenses of the source are not well developed, or have been weakened.

Sometimes, even by no direct effort on the part of the vampire, these psyche centers are used for direct feeding, either by preferences of the vampire, or by unconscious tendency. In cases where the energy is drawn directly, intentionally or not, from these energy centers, rather than from the outer aura, there is a greater chance of distinct manifestations of symptoms related to mental and thought process.

These attacks can cause symptoms ranging from mild pressure of the head, to severe head ache, disorientation, vertigo, loss of consciousness, and even other physical ails in other parts of the body, based on the method used to recover energy and replenish the center.

Whenever we become emotionally charged, or reach high levels of emotional stimulus, we produce certain energies that under normal circumstances, simply melt into the aura, or are used by the bodys energy field in some manner.

A tentative theory in matters of targeting the emotional energies for vampiric feeding involves the understanding of how easily those particular energies can be absorbed, and also how common they are.

If, indeed, emotionally derived energies are the easiest to perceive and target, and If the will exists to target other distinct energy centers, then the Emotional vampiric drain is a viable tool by which to weaken the natural defenses and target those centers, specifically.”

Anyway, I’ve run out of time. To be continued. 🙂
